Keep Learning to Keep Succeeding
As a budding professional you have already charted your progression plans and have a keen desire for :
• Recognition in your profession or industry
• Expertise in your area of specialization
• Preparation for your coveted career
• Better scope for promotions or entry into the industry
• Regard and respect of your peer group
• Reduction of monotony in your daily job activities
If any or all of the above mentioned goals appeal to you then you are an ideal candidate for pursuit of professional training. The desire to augment one’s knowledge and develop professional skills has become a necessity. In today’s competitive environment one cannot afford to remain ignorant of advances in one’s chosen profession. A common saying goes-
“You can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink”
No amount of convincing or promotional activity will motivate you to advance your knowledge base. You will seek training avenues on your own when you are motivated by the burning desire from within to improve yourself and your career prospects.
Basic academic degrees provide the stepping stone for a career in your desired area but constant upgradation of professional knowledge and skills through professional training programmes will ensure a sustained growth.
Always remember it is easier to get into a job but much more difficult to sustain it unless you face head on the new challenges and demands of your profession.
Right training and motivation will stand by you for acquisition of new ideas and methodologies which secure a rising career platform.
It is commonly argued that in today’s age all information can be accessed through internet or through library books then where is the need for wasting your time and resources on attending or subscribing to training programmes. This is a valid argument but training programmes provide additional benefit of interaction with seasoned professionals for better understanding of the current job trends through focused interaction and most importantly, saves you time needed to identify the right answers, which are lost in the sea of search engine results.
Desire to learn has no age, gender or regional bias. Our society is technology driven and each day new concepts flow which contribute to the progress of the human race. Professional training exposes you to new concepts which widen your intellectual horizon. The gains of training may not always be immediate but in the long run professional training is bound to raise your confidence level. A famous saying goes thus
“Training costs you money but so does ignorance”
It would be beneficial to all to be the lookout for avenues to increase your knowledge and professional skills thereby giving a new direction to your cherished goals.

Dear Jolaade Thank you for your kind words of appreciation! It motivates us to work even harder and bring out more useful content for our readers like you, Thanks once again!
I learned a lot from the previous proteomics training course offered in this web site. I really appreciate it. I have a hungry heart for new knowledge and technology. If there is a training course for next generation sequencing and bioinformatic information associated to this technique, it would be great. Any way, thanks a lot.
HI Liu, thanks for the inputs we will try and do something on sequencing also in the future! our lab is going to enter this field soon. Thanks once again!
Such a clear expression requires clarity of thought, i appreciate the author for the same.
Being updated is the key to progressive thoughts.
