Hi, the ISO 17025 standard covers all the requirements of the ISO 9000 standard. Inact the 2017 ISO 17025 gives you the option for getting accreditation without evaluation of the management system if you have ISO 9000.

We are already accredited for 17025 and are looking to gain accreditation in 9001.

Do you have just one Quality Mgmt System that covers 17025 and 9001? Can I ask how you have amalgamated both Quality Mgmt Systems into one? Any suggestions, things for us to bear in mind when we amalgamate?

Have you come across any pros and cons with regards to amalgamation and one QMS?

Thank you so much for your time and thoughts.

I am going to setup a lab for evaluating and testing imported goods from a neighbouring country. What should I do to follow all standards.

Hi Desmond, We also have both 9000 and 17025, the 17025 standard covers all the clauses in 9000 and you can cross reference them in the same manual.

I have both 9001 and 17025 accreditation. For example, purchasing relates to both clause 7.4 and 4.6 respectively in the standards. Can i apply the form numbers used in 9001 as part of the 17025 documentation?

For example, the ISO 9001 purchasing evaluation form has QPXX-F01 as the form number. my 17025 uses LQPYY-F01 instead. Can i reference to QPXX in my 17025 documentation instead of doing the same thing twice with different form numbers?
